ANDRE’ DE SHIELDS

TWO TONY AWARD-WINNING STARS.
A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME LOVE STORY.

Tony Award® winners Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen return to Broadway in IMPRESSIONISM, a love story – no matter how you look at it.

Set in Manhattan, IMPRESSIONISM is the story of an international photojournalist and a New York gallery owner whose unexpected brush with intimacy leads them to realize that there is quite an art to repairing broken lives.

Written by Michael Jacobs and directed by three-time Tony Award®-winner Jack O’Brien, this remarkable portrait of human nature marks Mr. Irons first Broadway appearance since his 1984 Tony-winning turn in The Real Thing, and Ms. Allen’s first since her Tony®-nominated performance in The Heidi Chronicles in 1989. The rest of the cast includes Tony Award® nominee André De Shields, Michael T. Weiss, Aaron Lazar, Margarita Levieva, Hadley Delany, and four-time Academy Award® nominee Marsha Mason as Julia.

Share The Vision Productions

“Where the Community is Served and Stars are Born”

Independent Promotional Agent

Seeking Independent Promotional Agent with a broad and flexible set of skills to support in promoting a non-profit theatre organization.

Getting the Word Out: Marketing and Promoting the Production. Promotional activities make up the foundation of a marketing strategy; they are the guts of the marketing strategy because promotional designs reach specific people and motivate them to get involved. One of the major challenges of any production is Staffing, that is why your commitment and focus is critical to the success of this project.

For the successful execution of the Gospel Musical – DISSENT AT THE ROCK: A GOSPEL MUSICAL will consist of the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Producer to confirm overall vision of the production and discuss and formulate an outline for a Production Plan.
  • Production Plan to include working with Non-Profit Organizations Churches – Gay/Lesbian – All Affirming. Developing Mailing List, Press Releases. Work with the Media – Radio Talk Shows, TV Talk Shows, Magazines, News Papers and Electronic Promotions. Develop and distribution of Posters and Flyers. Ticket development and electronic set-up. Our focus is Success.

The aforementioned duties and responsibilities will be completed prior to an agreed show date of …2008. I, Producer will work and collaborate with Promotional Agent through this total production plan operation to its successful completion. We at STVP work as a team to assure success of our projects. Additionally, you will be motivated to receive a bonus for going above and beyond expectations. Payment will be made on a mutually agreed date or scheduled payments prior to the confirmed performance.

DISSENT AT THE ROCK: A GOSPEL MUSICAL dealing with hypocrisy and homophobia in the Black Church and its negative affects on the congregation and community. This project is also a vehicle to educate, enlighten and entertain.

This musical project will be used as a vehicle to raise money for other non-profits and create avenues to expose the agencies services to a wider community. Especially, in the case of HIV/AIDS organizations, where funding has been drastically cut.

Please e-mail your resume to sharethevisionproductionsinc@yahoo.com along with a half-sheet of your most significant accomplishments in this field. Salary to be discussed

CONGRATULATIONS LYNN NOTTAGE!

Good Afternoon Black Theater Online Family:

This is hot off the presses! RUINED, a new play by Brooklyn-based playwright LYNNE NOTTAGE has won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama! Ms. Nottage is the second woman to receive the prize since 2002 and only the second African American woman ever to snare the coveted accolade for drama.

Congratulations Lynn! Brava! This honor is well-deserved!

Sincerely,
Marcia Pendelton
Black Theater Online

P.S. If you haven’t seen RUINED yet, run, don’t walk to the Manhattan Theatre Club and purchase your tickets today. Details are below.

RUINED Performance & Price Information

From Lynn Nottage, the Obie Award-winning author of such plays as Fabulation and Intimate Apparel comes this extremely topical and highly acclaimed new work. A co-production with the Goodman Theatre, where it debuted to a shower of rave reviews, RUINED is a haunting, probing play about the resilience of the human spirit during times of war.

Set in a small mining town in Democratic Republic of Congo, this powerful story follows Mama Nadi, a shrewd businesswoman who provides precarious shelter to women in a land torn apart by civil war. But is she protecting or profiting by the women she shelters? How far will she go to survive? Can a price be placed on a human life? Directing is Kate Whoriskey, who staged Ms. Nottage’s Fabulation at Playwrights Horizons.

Save over 30% off the regular ticket price.

“THE KIND OF NEW PLAY WE DESPERATELY NEED –
A CRACKLING THRILLER, WITH HUMOR, STELLAR PERFORMANCES
AND LOTS OF HUMANITY.”-David Cote, NY1
